This Privacy Policy explains how PlayToucan ("we", "us") at playtoucan.com handles information when you visit our website and play our games. You can use the site without creating an account, and we do not ask for your name, email or other personal details unless you choose to contact us.

1. Information we collect

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs when you visit: your IP address, browser type, device type, the pages you open, the referring page and the date and time. We use this only to run, secure and improve the website (for example to fix errors and block abuse).

Information you give us

If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your email address, your name if you provide it, and your message. We use it only to reply to you and keep a record of the conversation.

We do not sell your personal information.

2. Cookies and local storage

We store a few small items in your browser's local storage so the site works the way you expect. They stay on your device and are not sent to us:

• your favorite games list;
• your like / dislike choices;
• game progress and high scores saved by individual games.

You can remove this data at any time by clearing your browser's site data. Cookies used by advertising partners are described in the next section.

3. Advertising

The site is free because it shows advertising. We may work with advertising and game-distribution partners such as Google (AdSense / Ad Manager) and GameDistribution. These partners may use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers and similar technologies to show ads, limit how often you see an ad, measure ad performance and prevent fraud.

• Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on a user's prior visits to this website or other websites.
• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to our users based on their visit to our site and/or other sites on the Internet.

4. Third-party services and games

Some parts of the site are loaded from other companies' servers, which means those companies receive your IP address and browser information when you visit:

• Google Fonts (text fonts) and content delivery networks such as cdn.tailwindcss.com, cdnjs and jsDelivr (site styling and game libraries);
• online multiplayer modes in some games (for example Bagh-Chal's online mode), which connect to the game developer's own servers only when you choose to play online;
• games from distribution partners, which run inside an embedded frame and may show their own ads and use their own cookies;
• links to source code pages (for example GitHub) on open-source games.

These services are governed by their own privacy policies. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of websites we link to.

5. Children's privacy

Our games are for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the minimum age required in their country). Children should ask a parent or guardian before contacting us. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, please contact us and we will delete it. Where we know or are told that a user is a child, we request that advertising partners show only non-personalized ads.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• access the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it;
• object to or restrict certain processing, and withdraw consent at any time;
• opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising (California residents under the CCPA/CPRA);
• complain to your local data-protection authority.

To use any of these rights, email contact@playtoucan.com. Because we do not use accounts, we may only hold data you sent us yourself (for example emails). For data held by our advertising partners, please also use the opt-out links above.

Legal bases (EEA/UK visitors): we process data to provide and secure the website (legitimate interests), to reply to your messages (legitimate interests), and for personalized advertising (your consent).

7. Security and data retention

We use HTTPS and take reasonable steps to protect information, but no website can be 100% secure. Server logs are kept only as long as needed for security and troubleshooting, and emails are kept only as long as needed to handle your request.

8. International visitors

Our hosting provider and partners may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, they use appropriate safeguards for these transfers.
